Module 1: Describe A Skill That Was Difficult For You To Learn

Introduction:

Obtaining new skills is never truly easy. Nevertheless, trying to learn on your own might make things more difficult, as I discovered when I tried to figure out how to ride a bicycle for the first time 10-15 years ago.

When did you learn it?

I was still in my first grade at the time. However, for some reason, I never considered riding a bicycle to be a “thing” for me. Realizing that I was somewhat shorter than other kids my age at the time, I suppose that contributed to it in some way.

However, things quickly shifted when I learned that one of my cousins, who was enrolled in the same class as me, was now a rider.

Why did you learn this skill?

At the same time, they were making fun of me for not being able to pedal a bicycle. And that’s when I really started to get real about learning how to ride a bicycle—hook or by hook, no matter how much time it took. In other words, my mind’s “sheer competitiveness” was what encouraged me to acquire that ability.

How did you learn it?

So fast forward to when I asked for my parents to get me an easy-to-ride bicycle. I felt somewhat embarrassed and failed awfully at first when I attempted to learn the new talent on my own. My father as well as my uncle subsequently provided me with assistance for quite a few weeks, and only then I was able to pick up the ability to ride a bicycle.

How did you feel when you learned it?

Thus, even though I eventually worked out, it was not easy, primarily because I was a little too short to reach my bicycle’s paddle. Furthermore, I was initially unable to devote all of my attention to mastering that new ability because I was worried that I might injure myself in the process. At the very least, it was hard for me to sit firmly on the bicycle seat while trying to maintain a suitable physique. balance.

Module 2: Describe A Skill That Was Difficult For You To Learn

Introduction:

Learning new abilities may be thrilling and fulfilling, but occasionally some abilities can be harder to pick up than others. I’m excited to speak about an ability today that I considered challenging to learn.

When did you learn it?

I had a very difficult time figuring out how to play the guitar. I got motivated when I saw my classmates play guitar without any challenges and without facing any difficulty. So I started learning it in high school. I decided to give it a try and started learning it chord by chord so that I could improve myself by genuinely putting in time and effort.

Why did you learn it?

Evidently, I understood that playing the guitar was harder than it appeared. I had problems with hand movement, reading sheet music, and maintaining rhythm. Placing my fingers properly and maintaining them there. While strumming was difficult for me, my fingers would feel exhausted and sore fingers when playing, and I made plenty of mistakes. It was challenging for me to understand musical theory and to commit chords to memory.

How did you learn it?

I did not stop my efforts to learn the guitar in spite of the challenges I was facing. To get better, I practiced every day, attended classes on a regular basis, and watched online tutorials on YouTube or wherever I was able to. In an effort to learn from others and gain further experience, I started playing guitar for a band since they liked my style of playing, they stuck with me and I played guitar for them at plenty of music shows. I eventually became better at playing, but it demanded a lot of time and work but it was all worth it in the end.

How did you feel after you acquired these skills?

I feel elated to address that, after years of practice. Despite the fact that I’m not a professional musician, I still like jamming to music and playing guitar in my free time, and it gives me a really relaxing and meditating feel. It was a challenging yet worthwhile experience to learn the guitar, and it taught me to understand the importance of tenacity and diligence which is difficult to find these days.

Module 3: Describe A Skill That Was Difficult For You To Learn

Introduction

Well, some skills are quite essential to learn but can be quite difficult to acquire. I thank you for this opportunity to give me a chance to talk about an ability in which I faced obstacles, driving.

Where did you learn this skill?

Honestly, I had a great deal of fear in my mind about driving. Just so that I could gain confidence, my father got me enrolled at a driving school. Mr. Singh was my driving instructor who was quite confident, friendly, and soft-spoken.

How did you learn this skill?

On my first day, he helped me to gain control over the steering. Though we were driving on the ground with no vehicle around, I was still scared and trembling, but my instructor motivated me to boost my confidence.

How did you feel when you learnt how to drive?

Once I got on the highway, frankly speaking, every time a truck was coming from the other side, I was getting off the road in fear. This time my trainer got a little angry at me and said, “You must keep your courage if you want to learn this skill.” Slowly and steadily, I got more and more comfortable with driving on the road in different conditions. I felt like I had learned to drive but then came the most challenging part which was driving in the city centre, the area with the most traffic. I remember being terrified.

Share a moment where you showed great courage.

I got goosebumps driving in the middle of a bustling city that was also my home. The car was hardly moving because of traffic, and my engine was going off again and again, but I kept the courage this time. However, I had a minor accident with an auto-rickshaw.

What did you learn from this experience?

I learned a lot from my mistakes and the experience of Mr Singh, and today, I can confidently drive a car, but it was not an easy skill to acquire for me.
