The IELTS speaking examination consists of three parts; in the first round, the individual candidate is required to give their introduction, and the second round is the cue card where, according to the cue card, the candidate will be required to answer questions posed by the examiner. The third part is related to the cue card and comes in the form of a dialogue between the examiner and the candidate. So students might find difficulty answering the cue cards. In this article, we will discuss the cue card to describe someone older than you whom you admire. So that you can easily ace the IELTS test.

Model answer 1: Describe someone other than you whom you admire IELTS Cue Card

Introduction

Every individual has a lot of people in their life, and we are always attracted to someone older than us for their characteristics, wisdom, and experience. Let me share with someone older than me who I admire the most.

Who is this person?

The person’s name is Rahul Saini, and he is the program director of an NGO. He is currently 50 or older, but he is a man with passion and empathy, as he works for all the vulnerable communities across India.

How do you know this person?

I met Rahul Saini during my college time when I was an intern at the NGO. I had a great time with him and worked with him for more than 2 years. I know how he works and how he passionate he is about social issues. I am a big fan of his aura and personality.

What kind of things do you like to do together?

I had the opportunity to work under him, but if I ever get a chance, I would like to travel with him. He always has a different topic to discuss, like politics, history, people management, and many more, so I would always like to have some knowledge and his point of view on this.

Explain how you feel about this person and why you admire him or her.

When I met him for the first time, I would say he was a soft-spoken yet assertive person. If someone does not follow his discipline rules at work and is an illogical thinker, he tends to argue and fight for he deems right. I really admire him completely when it comes to his career and profession.

Crime Scenes: Describe someone older than you whom you admire

Introduction:

Soft people are always the top attraction of all individuals. I always admire all the soft people who are there to talk about something in a polite manner. I am going to talk about someone older than me, whom I admire for his kind-hearted nature.

Who is this person?

Mr Dipit Shah is the head of the crime department at the University of Madras. He is around 40 years of age and is good at foreign investigations in criminal cases. He gives lectures as a guest teacher at the university.

How do you know this person?

I was a student at the University of Madras pursuing criminology. I met him in the college itself when he came as a guest teacher. He has a lot of experience at crime scenes, and it was fascinating to hear from him. He does talk about dogs, and along with that, he has shared the mistakes she has made so that we all can avoid making these mistakes.

What kind of things do you like to do together?

I would like to have a pleasant conversation with him, as he is an experienced individual in this field, and I don’t think I am capable of working with him. At the same time, I am trying to extract as much wisdom as possible. If I ever get the chance to talk to him, I would like to get his guidance for my research on child trafficking. Most importantly, I would like to know his perspective on life and how you handle difficult situations.

Explain how you feel about this person and why you admire him or her.

When I saw him for the first time, I saw his great ability to be the best individual with a lot of humour. When we were in the class, he easily grabbed everyone’s attention for the first time with his knowledge and intelligence. He always treats everyone with respect and dignity, and I want to be able to become like him someday.

Grandparents: Describe someone older than you whom you admire

Introduction:

There are always a lot of older people, who we admire. However, I always admire my neighbours who are also like my grandparents now, thanks to the lovely bond that we share.

Who is this person?

My grandparents live in my neighbourhood. They are about 60 years old. My grandfather is a retired police officer while my grandmother is a homemaker. 

How do you know this person?

They moved to our Apartments several years ago and when I was in a hurry to go to a social event to catch the lift, I saw my grandfather. He Pressed the waiting button for me so that I could catch the lift. We had a conversation for a few minutes and he was very polite and invited me over to his place.

He is a very good observer and he told me that when he was a police officer, he honed his observational skills which had been benefiting him over his entire career. He has a good intellect which assists him in making the most of his retirement years. He has never become annoyed and the most essential reason for his adoration is his cheerful nature towards everyone. 

What do you like about the person?

I appreciate the kind nature of my grandparents. My grandfather is very sweet and has invited me over to his place for meals whenever my parents have not been home. The person is so calm that he always teaches me the best lessons for life.

The third part of the examination will ask some of the questions related to the cue card. However, students are supposed to answer all the questions so that they are performing well in examinations. The availability of a better healthcare, housing, and transportation system has enriched the lives of my old people.

The old people around me like to stay active, focus on a healthy lifestyle, and spend their time either resting or doing calming activities like yoga or reading a book.
