What the activity was?

The outdoor activity I am describing here is cliff jumping in the waters of Hundru Falls at Ranchi. It was an exhilarating experience.

When and where you did it?

This happened six months ago when my friends decided to go on an impromptu trip to Ranchi. All of my friends were a, my house when this trip was planned. We were discussing about all the famous tourist spots in Ranchi that we have visited. It was during this discussion we realized we had never been to the biggest waterfall in the state, Hundru Fall. One of my enthusiastic friends propagated the idea of an impromptu trip to the place and we all agreed to it.

Who did you go with?

I went with four of my childhood friends.  We grew up together and then went different ways to pursue careers of our choice.  It was during Diwali and we were all in our hometown together. Once the decision was taken we decided to meet at my house after one hour with our luggage. Ranchi is just a few hours from my town so we decided to carry light. We reached our destination at 9 pm and decided to rest for the night.  N next day we reached Hundru Falls and our excitement was over the roof. Since it was still summer there were a lot of people enjoying the water. All of us jumped into the water too.

And explain how you felt about it.

This was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. When I jumped from the top of the waterfall, with the fresh air touching my face and the adrenaline rush of the moment, I felt alive and happy. We swam in the water for hours. Then we had lunch from food stalls at the waterfall and saw a beautiful sunset. it was a memorable day and the fact that I got to share this experience with my childhood friends made this outdoor activity more special.

I did it 3 years ago when I was going through a rough patch in my life. One of my friends who is also a doctor recommended me this therapy. I  enrolled with a company offering this program. I consulted a friend who is also a doctor. and he recommended this therapy. Since I wanted to work on my mental well-being, it only made sense that I go alone.

To say I felt peaceful would be an understatement. The magic of nature worked wonders for me.  It was a 7-day program. For seven days I had no digital contact with the world. Every day we would sit in the forest and meditate, trying to connect with nature. By the end of the ‘’shinrin yoku’ pro, gram I felt calm within. All my worries were gone.
