The volume of assessments is way higher here compared to other NZ universities. Especially the papers in the bachelor of business degree. The papers MRKTG200 and MRKTG203 with Mark Kilgour have weekly discussion excersises, weekly tutorial excersises, weekly quizzes, reflection assignments, a test, and a group report with 2 components. It's borderline unmanageable when you're trying to also manage 3 other papers simultaneously. WMS need a better way of making sure lecturers aren't overworking the students. Also with those papers I mentioned, the lecturer doesn't let you use your laptop to take notes in class. Some papers are stuck in the 1950s.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS - don't go here. Some lecturers mark you for what you write, your ideas and how much you know, which is fair. But some will mark you really, really low for spelling mistakes and don't care how much you understand or know and you will fail those papers. To finish the course you have to do those papers again, which costs you money and earns them more money. The university course material is full of bad spelling and poorly written instructions, and the papers on the online platform Moodle are chaotic. Save yourself time and money and heartache and go somewhere else.

The University of Waikato in Hamilton is a beautiful university with lush greenery and serene lakes, creating a peaceful environment. The university accommodation is comfortable and community focused.

Was there for rugby, I personally think for a university these are sub standard. The universities around the world that I have been at their grounds are so much better. I dont know why a Uni would not have 1st class grounds. It’s a pity the uni must look down on their students and facilities.
