I received an excellent education here. The class sizes are small, and I had significant interactions with all of my professors. The school has a little bit of everything in terms of amenities such as a cafeteria, sub & pizza restaurant, Starbucks, bookstore, auditorium, student lounge, extensive library (made studying easy), well-established gym, and an excellent football field. Finding a parking space here was never a problem. Their veteran's department is helpful in getting you set up with your VA benefits.

Online adjuncts are constantly causing work to be harder than it needs to be. If you are doing online be aware that you will be on your own as they do not actually answer any of their phones. It took 7 days for a professor to get back to me I've had a professor who's had 3 months to get their syllabus right and constantly changes it. Whatever hiring practices they are using to hire adjuncts for the educational department is incredibly poor. The only professor that I have not had an incredible problem with is my history professor. Online adjuncts are clearly given no oversight or requirements and often barely can use the online portal themselves. Two of my professors were hired a week before classes started and one of them couldn't even be bothered to remove the other person's name from the syllabus. You will also be required to join a union to do any of the field experiences in the educational department. And I do mean required as no alternative is given and you have to have that unions insurance to do the field experiences. I am incredibly worried about not being able to pass the state boards because of the lack of actual learning that is going on in the online classes.

I don't know about undergraduate programs, but graduate programs are the best. Just try it, then you will feel it, like it, and love it. Thank you SMSU

'SMSU is where you belong.' It is true. Graduated 2009 with BA in Public Administration. Served as a Student Body Vice President. Great impact. Great people. Great Professors. A small-town feel. SMSU sets you up for real-world success but you've gatto be willing to set goals like those Homeworks, Quizzes, Exams taught you to. You've gatto work harder and fight for your dream. No one is coming to save you but yourself. And nobody cares. So, pursue whatever you like without fear or shame. That's the real world for ya. I'm currently in Florida where I live and running for public Offices and still miss SMSU's small caring environment. Hawaiian Night and all of those fun stuff won't fade.
