Southern’s Faculty & Staff truly went the extra mile for me and other students. I received my B.S in Public Health and can honestly say it’s only because of southern’s generosity. I was one semester shy of graduating and had no extra financial resources to remain on campus or pay for my summer internship. They awarded me work study and offered aid to help me get into a place close to campus that I could afford. I love this school, my only regret is not attending several years ago when I first wanted to. I know faculty from my major had a lot to do with my experience here. If granted the chance, I’d love to teach here in the future :)

Spent 4 years here, can honestly say it’s a end of the pack school. Campus is nice but but definitely not appreciated by students since Covid. The classes (LEP)s that you are forced to take waste two years of your schooling. I’ve had professors who admittedly smoke weed and drink daily. I’ve heard and seen vile things in the dorm halls such as screaming, food throwing, urine scents. Seen RAs that are just as bad as the residents if not worse; cheating in relationships, smoking and drinking in freshman dorms, it’s gotten bad. Residence life brushes off so many interpersonal issues too it’s not a surprise their best president just left for another school. They crave diversity but don’t address hate crime on campus. I could keep going on and on. Thank you for my Ted Talk, 1 star.

I spent weeks calling the school, calling the people in charge of the program I was accepted into, sending emails all just to register for classes. No one ever got back to me. I was not able to register for classes. The woman answering the phone in the graduate admissions department was extremely rude to me and completely unhelpful. Truly no desire to help me. She purposely spoke to me as if I was bothering her. Sighing loudly and scoffing when all I was doing was asking for help. I am truly genuinely heartbroken and disappointed in the treatment that I received from this school. No one has ever treated me so horribly. I sadly realize this is not a school I want to be part of.
