I started going to Salisbury University this spring after transferring in from a community college. I don't like it here at all. You ask for help and people either don't help or are rude to you. I've had nothing but problems since being here and have been treated terribly by just about everyone I've come into contact with. They treat you as less than and considering how much you pay in tuition you'd think that that wouldn't be the case. I'm in the process of moving to a new university as soon as possible.

I had the pleasure of speaking to students in the Education Faculty. Their open mindedness and willingness to embrace international books was inspiring. As an Australian author, it was wonderful sharing my I AM JACK' and anti bullying through literature with them. Hosted by Professor Ernest Bond and Patricia Dean, I enjoyed this university where there was a real commitment to raising literacy rates, promotion of international books, excellence and literature which opens discussion on the environment. I loved the university being so integrated into the town of Salisbury. it was a beautiful campus and a welcoming town.

There are not many redeeming qualities about this college to be honest. I transferred from community college and attended the university from 2011 - 2012. I became involved in an extremely emotionally turbulent personal situation toward the beginning of 2012 for which I went into counseling on and off campus. The counselor that I was seeing initially, Meredith, was inept and disconnected from my situation. I was finally transferred to a different counselor and overall the counseling experience at the university actually seemed to make the situation (and my depression) worse than if I had abstained from counseling at all. Because of the same situation I failed several of my classes. I met with the head of the department for one of the classes I had failed and he was surprisingly compassionate and understanding about the situation. Aside from my personal situation, the grounds of the campus are beautiful. The multicultural events are really something worth investing your time. When I attended the university they would award a cultural laureate award to those who attended a certain amount of multicultural events. On campus housing is hit or miss. Off campus housing, go with University Park over University Village...it is worth the extra money.

Was a transfer student and graduated last year. Definitely prefer this school over my last one. I like the small campus feel and the campus is beautiful. I liked a lot of my professors, they are knowledgeable and like teaching and caring about your success. The food is pretty good but got repetitive, so I ended up going to CVS or Safeway a lot and just buying food there. There's one professor, Shawn McEntee that I'm so confused on why she's still there. Her rating on ratemyprofessors is horrible. She sucks as a professor. I was taking a summer class on campus, walked out of my bedroom one morning to find a bunch of maintenance workers in my dorm (I was in Seagull Square) doing painting in the room next to mine. No heads up that they were going to be there. I could've been naked. Housing didn't seem to care when I said something to them. Just that they sent an e-mail to those whose rooms were being painted, what about those who were staying on campus? The sociology department did nothing to prepare me for finding a career. They focused more on random capstone projects than helping you land internships or something useful. There's two different capstone classes that you have to take that are basically the same thing. It's been 6 years since I graduated and I can't find a job in the field, most of us can't. Waste of time and money

We toured Salisbury University with our daughter. Our tour guides were lively and energetic and were sincere in their appraisal of the university. The library is gorgeous and a testament to the school's small, but well though-out, campus. Between the Purdue and the Guerrieri families, this is the university that chicken built. Don't understand the reference, look it up! My daughter is looking at business and economics, so we were happy we got to see the Business building, which was quite impressive. Salisbury is part of the University of Maryland System, but is a Division III school, so unfortunately, there's not a lot of energy around their sports programs the way you would find at a larger school. I did watch their football team practice a little, and they looked decent. Housing looks like it may be at a minimum on campus, though I believe they are building more student dwellings. The biggest negative was South Salisbury Avenue. With its nail salons, vape and cannabis shops, food shops, etc., it looked like suburb that was being run-down by cheap businesses - similar to Baltimore Avenue at UMCP. Salisbury itself is also a bit of a dodgy town, but a lot of campuses are in similar situations. Always best to stay with a group of people when galivanting about!
