Based on an event that took place between approximately 4.40pm to 4.45pm on 13 October 2018, which is detailed below, I am of the view that the security person on duty at RIAM discriminated against me, as a visitor to RIAM, on racial grounds. I arrived at approximately 4.40pm for the open house on 13 October 2018. I walked past the security person towards an arc that leads to an open area (the "arc") and was called back. He gave me a quizzal look. I explained that I was here for the open house. He said that it's closed. I replied that the open house is opened up to 5pm. He said you need to go with a tour. I accepted his explanation and stood at the back of the lobby without entering the arc. I observed that three persons entered from the front door, went through the arc and were not stopped by the security person. I approached the security person and voiced my observation that he had allowed three people through the arc and why was I not allowed to do so? He said that they had gone behind his back, which is physically impossible. I said that he was practising double standards by allowing others to enter (i.e. past the arc) and I was not allowed to do so. He replied that the tour is over. Unfortunately, I have to attribute the above event to racism. I am of oriental origins while those aforementioned three people are white. I am extremely disappointed by this event. RIAM can refer to their CCTV for investigation of this matter if they wish to.

We have just started the pre instrumental classes. I like the spirit of that place. The art is in the air. The teacher is very nice and our kid adores her.

As a teacher who regularly enters students for exams, I find that certain staff members make the Royal Irish Academy difficult to work with (a pity, as certain other Academy staff members are competent and polite). I wouldn't recommend the Royal Irish Academy, and find the Associated Board and Trinity College London to be better alternatives when entering students for exams.

Biased, worst experience, admission glitches or miscommunication! I applied for my kid's admission here at junior riam... after confirmation by one of the executive they were even ready to offer a preferred Day. Have an acknowledgment from that executive that they will come back in couple of week (sometime in May 2023) ... for a session to begin in September...later no one replied until I got back to them in last week of August only to be told it's fully booked and you are on waiting list. I am still failing to understand what changed from then to now. Do we have transparencies in admission procedure or was it some miscommunication and misunderstandings. But yes it was something REALLY STRANGE. They have admission form fees too...So beware.

We applied to the school online and were requested 30 euros admin/booking fee. We never got a single reply after that. Not even to say she was not admitted. Or what number she was in the waiting list. When you pay for a service and you get absolutely nothing back. Its called stealing. Its ridiculous. Enjoy my 30 euros. My unvoluntary contribution to you. Taking advantage because we want our kids to have an education and there is more demand than offer but you should not get away with that.
