Came back for my 20 year reunion and left deciding this is my last time visiting a college I was once very proud to say I attended. First off, my 20 year reunion we paid $25 each for a "dinner'....which once I got there was a bowl of tortilla chips labeled "nachos" (w/nothing to make nachos), a $10 veggie plate from safeway, plus cold sandwiches/meatballs that were dry. All of which came out 30 min after "dinner" was supposed to be served. No music in the background. No sign saying "Welcome back class of 1997", just a generic "Welcome to your 20 year Reunion sign that looked weathered. In general, very sloppy compared to years past. We left early to eat elsewhere, very upset I had just paid $50 for the same food you may see at an MLM event. My High School was really small, yet we had a better presentation for my 10 year. In general to see very few Luther students out on either Friday or Saturday was disappointing. Really didn't see many alumni compared to years pass either. No men's rugby team I found out-we used to have the best in the conference. Learned more floors are "chemical free" which is a ridiculous notion: I can't move into a chemical free apartment complex or condo or even a hotel. How's that prepping kids for the next stage of their life? Comes at no surprise enrollment is down 20% to boot. I was once really excited to come back to Luther to see friends. I'd come back every homecoming when I lived in Winona and made it to my 5, 10, 15 year reunions and left excited. While I enjoyed seeing who I saw at my reunion, I was disappointed with what Luther has become and seeing what it's become. If I had kids, I wouldn't let them apply. And if anyone suggested they were thinking of sending their kids to Luther, I'd tell them how Alumni are treated and let them know their are better schools for less. Once was very proud to have attended Luther, but after this weekend and how my alumni class (as well as my sister's and cousin's) were treated/welcomed I've deleted the fact I attended Luther from applicable public profiles. It no longer has meaning to me.

Beautiful campus. Our son attended the Dorian music camp. It was an amazing experience for him and the performances at the end of the week were outstanding.
