Harper has some of the most helpful and genuinely caring staff I've ever met. Facilities are very good, relatively new and regularly cleaned. Harper is equipped with excellent farm facilties, occasionally there are smells that remind you of that. Few minutes drive outside of Newport and 20 odd minutes from Telford. The university does provide a shuttle bus to Newport regularly with a small fare. Nightlife is dominated by Harper students, weekly events are held at the SU but many students take to Newport for an alcohol filled night.

University rating  (4) The best aspects is that living on campus is extremely easy to go to lectures and all scheduled events, it is easy to go round and there are many things you can do such as walk around the farm etc, as well as this there is also access to the bus to get to and back from Newport. The worst aspect is that there is not that much to do when things are not taking place such as there are not many communal areas for students to meet and chat, as well as this in catered accommodations there is no access to an oven or hob which is kind of annoying when we have to make our own foods on weekends. Apart from that this university is great and I am loving it. Facilities: 5.0 Location: 3.0 Student support: 2.0 Campus look and feel: 5.0 Student life: 5.0 Students' union: 5.0 Course rating  (3) The course is good but there are some modules which I do not enjoy as much as others such as for example academic skills which includes presenting in front of the class which I am not looking forward to at all. As well as this these sessions are four hours long which makes it extremely difficult for me to concentrate for the whole time. The modules such as animal welfare and management, introduction to animal biology and physiology chemistry i find really interesting and am really enjoying. The course is extremely useful and we get to learn a lot of different aspects which is really great. Course content: 5.0 Work placements and internships: 3.0 Lecturers and teaching quality: 3.0 Career prospects: 2.0 Tutor contact time: 3.0 Subject facilities: 3.0 University halls  (5) Gloucester I love thé location of this hall as it is extremely close to all of my courses and so is extremely useful if I have to go back and collect something that I have forgotten. In terms of value for money I do not think it is great. It is quite expensive as we are catered for Monday - Friday. However we have to provide our own meal for weekends but do not have access to a hob or oven and this is kind of annoying as you can’t make much food with just a microwave and kettle so I wish there were bigger facilities. As well as this there is no common area for everyone to meet and chill together and the kitchens are extremely small, meaning that there isn’t really time for everyone to chill and enjoy each others company. However, the rooms are great and if decorated then the room feels a lot more homey and feels a lot better. This place is now getting better as the days go on. Location: 5.0 Safety: 5.0 Room allocation: 5.0 Internet/wifi: 5.0 Value for money: 3.0 Property management: 5.0

When you've experienced the death of an immediate relative and tell your uni about it, you'd think they'd understand that grief lasts longer than 28 days and wouldn't need monthly reminders. And when you miss your end-of-year goal by 0.125%, you'd think they'd use some common sense and not remove you from the course and not even allow you to redo the year. You'd expect a uni to have an efficient and robust appeals process and not just gaslight you and treat you like a number, too. But no. If you're considering a veterinary course of any description, avoid Harper Adams at all cost. It's likely the same for the agricultural students too, so bear that in mind. Edit; So two years later, having applied for another university course elsewhere, I've been told by the new uni that I owe them £9,250 in fees. The reason being, Harper Adams did not notify Student Finance England that I did not start my second year with them (remember, not my choice) and that SFE won't fund the year. So lots of phone calls had to be made, forms filled, delays in student loans etc. and hopefully things can be sorted. Two years later, Harper Adams are still messing me around. Moral of the story, avoid Harper Adams like the plague. Absolute usless cretins.

Wish I could give them one star. I was a student at this university in 2022, and the one piece of advice I can give is PLEASE do not go here. I was bullied by other student day in and day out. My nan unfortunately passed away, so I needed to go home and be with my family; however, Harper Adams weren’t happy about this and they basically told me I wasn’t allowed to go home. I am since at another university, and I’ve applied for a student loan but I’ve now been told that I can’t get funding for my full 3 years as Harper Adams didn’t tell SFE that I didn’t go onto year 2. So please, don’t send your children here, and don’t go here as a student. It’s the best you can do for you mental wellbeing

Do NOT ever enrol in this institution on a postgrad course. You'll find link to a link to a link, chaotic 2000s learning hub layout, nonsense and irrelevant information, nothing solid, just a lot of vague BS talk with no meaning, wasting your precious time (by the time you try to go through all the info there) which you have to share between work, family and other life events. This was made to make your life miserable. And you have to pay for it. No, thank you.
