Beautiful old style university. Cathedral is spectacular. Pipe organs are jaw droppingly magnificent. Stain glass the equal of any old world cathedral.

Scheduled for 2 procedures. Gotten all the way out here just to find out my sorry azz medical insurance denied me. That only goes to prove that Duke Hospitals are turning into just like Wake Med hospitals. They are only in it for the money. They don't care about the patients ability to live a good or decent quality of life. The same issue with Healthy Blue. Which is NC's Medicaid insurance. All these places do not care about the patient. Also I'm extremely limited on how I'm able to move about.

Beautiful campus, the chapel is stunning. Food is a little pricey but hey, it's Duke. That's literally the only thing bad I can say about this place. As a hopeful student imagine if Duke sees my review ??...just kidding. However, it is 100% a noteworthy place to visit and see the amazing Gothic architecture (is that what it is?) and the serene vibes experienced through the lush green lawn. Great visit!

From the outside Duke appears like this prestigious university, in the inside, the school is more or less like a money grabber for its students. The nice part about Duke is you get to connect with some very friendly peers and the campus looks great. The downside is the price tag for that: the school charges some very high tuition, specially for international students. It doesn’t even allow you to waive your health insurance if you are international and have a US-equivalent insurance. As of 2025 their insurance nears almost $4K per year - the highest I’ve seen in my academic appointments. Schools down the road charge around half of that price for exact same plan/provider. About professors/classes, i’m in a STEM master’s program: about 20% of them are great, 30% average, and 50% don’t even care about teaching.
