I am thankful for Denison in a lot of ways, but most importantly, my time at the Homestead. Living in an intentional community was one of the most meaningful experiences in my life, and surely shaped me to be the discerning, moral agent I have grown into. Surprisingly, I did not know about the Homestead until I started attending and followed friends to a communal dinner held on a Friday night. Four years later, I spent seven semesters there, including a winter and a summer surrendering the comforts of my parents' house for chickens, gardens, and community. While Denison (in my opinion) should shout from the rooftops about what a unique and impactful living experience they have to offer, they did not. Unfortunately, this trend is continuing and Denison is looking to shut the Homestead down. I am one student among many who owe so much to the Homestead, and I hope the administration knows we are here and ready to support the campus in keeping this unparalleled space for generations to come.

I enjoyed my time at Denison University, but most of all, I enjoyed my time spent at the Homestead at Denison University. Denison has a reputation for being a preppy, snobby school, especially in terms of student body (if not academics.) I did not find that experience to be universally accurate, especially because of the time I spent at the Homestead, the Bandersnatch, WDUB (the radio station) and the excellent English department. Denison is currently looking at closing the Homestead, after cutting support for it over the years. This is despite it being a unique student experience that can't be found at any other university. If this occurs, it's likely I will change my review to lower than a 4-star review.

I recently visited this campus while passing through Granville and it is such a unique, quaint University. This small liberal arts school sits high up on a hill near downtown Granville. The atmosphere (especially in the fall) makes you feel like you’re exploring a small New England town. Walking around the campus is a workout on its own! Got to explore the student Union, the football field, and a few historic buildings. The culture is strong and vibrant here at Denison!

Denison University has beautifully manicured grounds. My wife and I spent an hour or so wandering about the campus as a break from a long road trip. A miniature wetland, meadows, a large field of zinnias, as well as formal plantings of flowers dot the campus.

Great memories over four years at Denison University's athletic complex in Granville Ohio with WashU Swimming. The complex is maybe ten years old, but looks new. It houses indoor track, tennis and swimming. My visits after Thanksgiving have been at their annual Denison Invitational Meet with my son. The school uses the opportunity to fundraise the local food bank. My specific experience with the school is through swimming only. So the rating has nothing to do with academics, although I know from ratings and word of mouth it is a strong D3 school. The pool is a looker. It's a 50 meter with diving wells. They also installed a very large spectator area to hold large events like conference and the Denison Invitational. However, a star deduction with air quality issues over the years. This makes competing much harder. So long Denison University. My son has graduated out of this meet and it will be missed. Not just the facility, but the people and memories it holds.
