I studied IT-security program for two years before i got the possibility to move to another university. Dalarna university is the most awful, lack planing, lazy teachers, rude professors and gave me the most useless two years of my life. What I learned in high school was more then wonderful if compared with everything i took in Dalarna university. Do not attend, do not take any IT related classes here they are worthless

One of the best places I have been in my life and in my student career (2005-2006) Compared to Italian University Sistem I felt like 30 years in advance. Just a nice place to be, teachers were good, building was perfect, I would join again tomorrow. Very thankful for everything.

Unfortunately, I have to leave a negative review. I have taken courses in the Master of Arts in African Studies program. Being a dual degree student, I could choose to take one semester in-person and one online. The first semester in Falun, went quite well, except for some minor organizational issues that can be ignored. The second semester online--a disaster!!! Right from the beginning, especially with an online lecturer, I got the impression that the course was not really a course! But a collection of seminars and topics also very disconnected from each other, the exam? a recorded presentation with an app, a few minutes long on a topic chosen by the student... Finished the exams, I have to start writing the thesis. From then on the real problems; professor absent, supervisor missing and never seen or heard from again! Even, I remain in agreement with my professor about what I had written up to that time (about July 2023) and that we would catch up again the last days of August (the time when Dalarna's courses begin (professor disappeared until the end of September). In the meantime, I had bought a plane ticket in June (again in agreement with my professor to discuss my thesis in October). Just 10 days before departure, the professor tells me that the thesis is no good (I don't understand since the thesis was the same as in July and it was fine in July!??). So I lose my plane ticket, I am forced to discuss the thesis in December online amidst a thousand difficulties, and due to a silly forgetfulness, my graduation certificate arrived last week (after 4 months!) because I had forgotten to apply for a course in the past and, in a loop, from the secretary's office they always replied the same thing, I explained the problem and back to square one. Could it be that there is no way for operators to intervene manually in case of problems? Is it possible that for an error you have to wait months for the system to reopen applications automatically? In short, a lot of disorganization. The problem with this disorganization is that when you lose money and, because of this huge bureaucracy, you lose the chance to apply for important jobs and competitions in the meantime, it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth! As written at the beginning, unfortunately I have to leave this negative review because almost all the problems we had, could have been avoided or solved in other ways. Too bad, because some of the courses were very interesting, but African Studies "seems like a child who still has to grow up and mature a lot, mainly in a organization way"!

I have a relative that applied to this school and there's a teacher that suggest that if you don't devote 40 hours a week (for a 30 points course) you can leave. If you need extra help, leave. There's no help, there's no time to do everything this person requires and basically if you're not fluent in the language, then you're not welcome either. Is this standard for this university? Do you accept teachers that more or less bully students into submission? My relative took contact with the student administration and they said: Uh we don't know. What do you know about students rights? Is it normal behaviour amongst teachers to threaten you if you fail? Utterly dissapointed in the treatment. Also, if you're not disturbing in class and asking relevant questions, why don't you answer in a good way? Or are questions also forbidden?
