The campus is quite spacious and has enough residence buildings for students. The library is well-equipped, and the classrooms are nice. Most buildings are connected by tunnels, which is quite convenient. The meal plan is good and popular among the students. Overall, the quality of student life is good. However, adding CCTV surveillance in the tunnel areas would be beneficial for students who attend late evening classes.

Lovely university environment perfect for learning and research. Visited the campus for a graduation ceremony and I was impressed at how well organised, orderly the flow of the crowd and guests were managed. Plenty of parking ?? available, marked out signs and directions which helped navigating through campus very easy. Green surrounding, trees and ? well nurtured green spaces. Accessible ? parking, rest rooms and entrances. Lovely university environment!

Carleton University, uniquely situated at 1125 Colonel By Dr between the Rideau River and the historic canal, is frequently highlighted in my civic and professional circles as Canada’s "Capital University," where a substantive focus on public affairs and high-tech engineering creates a truly pragmatic academic powerhouse. From numerous insightful dialogues with local policy-makers and thriving alumni, it is merytorically evident that Carleton offers a high-caliber, community-oriented environment, often praised by my acquaintances for its exceptional ability to leverage its proximity to Parliament Hill and the Silicon Valley North tech hub. It is heartening to observe how the institution maintains such a transparent and respectful dedication to accessibility and hands-on learning, a quality that the broader public recognizes as a vital catalyst for the impressive career readiness of its diverse graduate pool. Many individuals I know personally emphasize the university’s sophisticated synthesis of beautiful riverside architecture and cutting-edge laboratory facilities as a distinguished hallmark of intellectual growth. The institution's specialized programs, particularly in journalism and international business, are widely regarded as being among the finest in the country, reflecting a commitment to excellence that is both rigorous and socially relevant. Ultimately, in the collective view of informed Canadians, Carleton stands as a premier pillar of innovation and civic engagement, rightfully respected for its elegant ability to merge traditional scholarship with the practical demands of a modern democracy. This university remains a vital asset to Ottawa’s intellectual landscape, offering a transformative journey that is as substantively rich as it is professionally rewarding.

Honestly disappointed as a recent graduate. I don't think Carleton University prepares its student for success, as they continuously add barriers to education. 1) I graduated in April, and received a call from Carleton asking if I wanted to donate monthly to a student fund that would allow financially disadvantaged students to access things like groceries and rent payments. So, instead of making tuition more affordable, tacking on extra costs to things like parking, access to orientation, textbooks, formal events, they want a former student to donate? The economy is terrible right now and you are asking people looking for jobs and just starting in their fields to donate, instead of taking care of your own students? This school has a ton of revenue, this should not be the responsibility of alumni. 2) The parking is absolute trash for a university in a city that has no effective public transportation options. This school asks students to tack hours onto their commutes, while destroying parking structures, and forcing people to pay for permits. This is on top of the large cost for parking. 3) They spent two million dollars on a sign no one wanted and does not look good. The old sign was used by alumni to take graduation photos, and they needlessly replaced it with the money we give them. Terrible allocation of student funds. 4) Students, especially in my program of psychology, are not effectively prepared. I could not afford the $90 first-year orientation, so I missed out. I didn't find out about requirements for a thesis until my 3rd year, when it was pretty much too late. The first two years of my degree were entirely online due to the COVID pandemic, which significantly limited the ability for students to make connections with professors for thesis eligibility. I understand that adults have a responsibility to figure this out for themselves, but this is an undergrad with first-timers in secondary education. I don't think that's a fair expectation. 5) Bathrooms are not well-maintained during busy hours 6) The STEM departments get significantly more funding and advantages compared to Arts students. 7) Tuition costs include payments for things that are rarely used or simply just not necessary. Tuition could absolutely be adjusted but they choose not to.

I'm not a student here but while visiting a friend was shown these amazing tunnels, 5k of them. The fact that they also double as art spaces make them sublime. It's like getting lost in a sci-fi film.
