Boston Architectural College
Boston, United States
The Boston Architectural College is the largest independent college of spatial design in New England. Architecture and design is all we do, so the people who come to study, teach, and work here are crazy about design.

Kind of annoying that we had to show our vaccination records even though the pandemic is over. but it makes sense given their excellent hours! I very much enjoyed the Doshi exhibit and learning about architecture in India! The hours weren’t posted on the door, but the main exhibit is open until 10 PM. A great, free activity for a slow Sunday afternoon!

Poor leadership from the president and the facilities are falling apart. Would not recommend.

Terrific College with great instructors and an engaging curriculum that challenges design skills. Strong design focus that works well with practical applications. Many schools skimp on the design process but not the BAC

Despite its high tuition costs I feel the institution offers little return on investment. The facilities are in a state of disrepair, leadership under the current president is uninspired, and as of 2025, several academic programs are being phased out. The once-vibrant campus culture has dwindled, leaving the grounds eerily quiet — more reminiscent of a ghost town than a thriving academic community. Removal of the president should help.

What has happened to this institution? It feels as though the very foundation of this place has begun to erode. Beyond the constant appeals for financial contributions—requests that have become almost routine—it’s increasingly unclear where the money is actually going. Despite raising significant funds and charging ever-higher tuition, the institution appears to be in a state of ongoing financial instability. Adding to the confusion is the fact that the current president earns a salary that significantly exceeds that of presidents from the past—by a wide margin. This raises serious questions about fiscal responsibility and leadership priorities. How can such high executive compensation be justified when the school is struggling to maintain its financial footing? Where is the board of trustees in all of this? One would expect the governing body to act as stewards of both the school’s mission and its resources, yet their role and effectiveness appear increasingly opaque. Are they holding leadership accountable? Are they offering any strategic direction to navigate these troubling times? It’s difficult not to feel disillusioned. Alumni, students, parents, and faculty deserve transparency and accountability—both of which seem to be in short supply.
