The Yale University Financial Aid Award has these three categories where international students could be placed:
-
Yale Scholarship
-
Merit-Based Scholarships
-
Entitlement Grants
Inclusion programs work to bring everyone in. They ensure that money doesn't keep talented students from coming to Yale. However, entitlement grants also contribute to the university's objectives and guarantee that economic obstacles don't prevent pupils from experiencing the academic superiority Yale University provides. The requirements and cutoffs for scholarships change based on the Level of study and scholarship applied by students.
Yale University Scholarships for International Students
International students planning Yale University admissions can be considered for scholarships based on financial needs (UG) and merit-based ones (PG). If a student applies at the university, they will automatically be considered for a scholarship. The amount of money given in Yale scholarships can vary from only a few hundred dollars to over USD 70,000 every year (around INR 58.26 lakh). The general Yale University scholarship for the need-based category is more than USD 50,000 (INR 41.5 lakh).
Yale University Scholarships for Undergraduate International Students
Yale University gives the Yale scholarship to students for their Bachelor's Degree if they do well in studies and sports, which can help them contribute to the university. Depending on financial need, this yearly scholarship can be used to pay tuition and living expenses (Highly applied for tuition fees). Students may receive a maximum of USD 70,000( 58,26.824) every year. You are automatically considered for this scholarship, so no application is necessary. To meet the criteria, you should have these requirements:
Two LORs: Applicants should obtain recommendations from two teachers who have taught them core academic subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, or social studies. Additionally, a recommendation from the school’s or college counselor is required. However, if the school doesn't have a counselor, the students can get a recommendation from a school administrator like a principal or an academic advisor.
Transcripts: the applicant should submit the school report and the official transcript, including all secondary school courses.
Standardized Test Results: Yale University has a long test-optional policy for the 2023-2024 admission cycle. That means that applicants for UG admissions for fall 2024 enrollment can choose to apply with or without submitting ACT or SAT scores. The university has mentioned that there is no minimum score required for admission, Nor is there a score that will guarantee admission. Yale University Student Loans for International Students
Yale University provides this service for international student loans via the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and professional schools. It is important to note that not all programs universally offer these loans. The interest rate for the loan stands at 7.75%, with an additional fee of 5%. However, Yale limits how much you can borrow through these loans - it must be, at most, what would be left after subtracting received financial aid from the total cost of attending school here (source: https://studentaid.yale.edu/graduate). Interests start from the day the loan is given, and students can pay only monthly interest or keep it with the principal amount for later payment. But, students can get repayment offers with a grace time of six months, which covers a maximum span of 10 years and demands a minimum monthly payment worth USD 50 (INR 4157)
