Nuclear Engineering
Specialization
Nuclear engineering is a branch of engineering that deals with the fission and fusion of atomic nuclei. Nuclear Engineering courses cover topics and theories from both electrical and chemical engineering. The energy released from this is used to convert water into steam, then powering a turbine.
Scope & Opportunities
This branch of engineering studies thermodynamics, radiation, nuclear safety, fuel, and so on. Nuclear power plants produce low-cost energy, so operating costs are low. Nuclear energy is highly reliable, so there is a gradual shift toward developing and producing nuclear energy. Many universities and colleges in India offer bachelor's and master's degree programs in nuclear engineering. Entrance examinations are the most common method of admission to these colleges. Some colleges may conduct personal interviews and aptitude tests depending on the programme.
