Marine Science is a multidisciplinary branch of science that deals with marine organisms and their habitats, and the forms and synthesis of life in the ocean and how human beings affect such systems. The Bachelor’s degree in Marine Science usually takes three years to complete, made up of six semesters. The requirement for admission in this undergraduate course is that the candidates should appear for the 10+2 examination in science group with additional Biology and should have secured 55% marks in the same. While most colleges have centralized admission processes, there are a few which admit candidates directly based on their performance and those which may have an entrance exam as a prerequisite to admission.

As for postgraduate study in Marine Sciences, the requirements are to have obtained a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences for example in marine biology, zoology, botany, aquaculture, microbiology, biochemistry or biotechnology. Candidates must have passed the undergraduate degree with at least 55-60 percent grade. Admission to M. Sc.
