ICC Champions Trophy: Describe a Live Sports Match That You Have Watched

  1. What was it?

As a sports lover and a cricket enthusiast, I always loved watching cricket matches but I had only ever seen them on the television. Everything changed when I watched a live cricket match. It was an excellent thriller where India dragged a low-scoring game away from England and lifted the ICC Champions Trophy 11 years ago. The experience was very enjoyable and made me have memories for a lifetime.

  1. When did you watch it?

The match was played on June 23, 2013, which was on Sunday. It was a one-day international match between India and England that was reduced to over 20 overs due to the heavy rain in the city on that day.

  1. What was it like?

The atmosphere at the stadium was cheerful and amazing. I was filled with overcrowded people and they were people from different nations that attended the match. On the other hand, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me to chant “Vande Mataram” to encourage the Indian players.

  1. And how did you feel about it?

I was proud of my country as a big fan of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. I was glad that he kept and led the team from the front, dragging the lost match away from the home team, England. At the same time, the match holds great importance, as the Indian team won the trophy by beating England at home.

College Football Match: Describe a Live Sports Match That You Have Watched

  1. What was it?

It was a football match between our college and St. Xavier College. The football team of our college chose me as a team player and I was excited to play the match. However, I had an accident just before the game started. My foot swelled up but just after the accident, I spoke to my coach, and he advised me not to participate in the football match. After that, I stayed in the stadium and saw my college football team during the whole match.

  1. When did you watch it?

The match was about a year ago when I was in college during my graduation. It was my final year. Hence, this was the last chance for me to play a match for my college team and I was really happy to participate and to contribute to the college by winning this match. Unfortunately, I was not able to play in this match due to my exams.

  1. What was it like?

It was one of the most memorable games, as it was between the two best teams in a city. That’s why the stadium was filled with a lot of spectators. Halfway through the match, I visited my team’s locker to advise them of the tricks based on my observations. Our college team was trailing behind by one goal but at the end of the match, our team managed to score a point and performed so well that we won the game. The moment was filled with joy and a lot of happiness.

  1. And how did you feel about it?

Honestly, I was not happy because I was not able to play the match but as the game progressed, I started appreciating my team. On the other hand, I also learned that even if I am not playing the game, I can still do something about it by just observing a lot of things during the match. We celebrated our victory and gained a lot of knowledge by observing everyone during the match.
