Introduction

I have always been interested in history and one particular period I wish to understand is during the Renaissance Era in Europe.

What period it is

Renaissance was a cultural, artistic, and scientific revival that occurred between the 14th and 17th centuries.

How do you know about it

This period was initially introduced to me in school history books, and afterward I saw documentaries on great people such as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo.

What interests you about it

Of particular interest to me is that this era transformed human perceptions of art, science, and philosophy. The invention of the printing press also revolutionized knowledge-sharing.

And explain why you would like to know more about it

I am interested in knowing more of how common people lived then and how the way they lived changed as they discovered new things.

Conclusion

The renaissance era marks the creativity and innovativeness of man and getting to know more of it would enable me value civilization as we know it today.

Introduction

Ancient cultures have always interested me and one of the historical periods that I wish to learn more about is the Maurya Empire in India.

What period it is

The Maurya Empire was an empire that lived between 321 and 185 BCE and was one of the largest empires in India.

How you know about it

I heard about it at school when I was studying history particularly about the emperor Ashoka and how he transformed after the war at Kalinga.

What interests you about it

It interests me how Ashoka preached the message of peace and non-violence and spread Buddhism after experiencing the terrors of war.

And why you would wish to know more of it.

I would also like to know how the empire was run, what were their economic systems and how the common people lived during such periods.

Conclusion

Maurya Empire defined the greater part of Indian political and cultural identity and getting to know more about it would add more knowledge to my historical background.

Introduction

The period in history that I am really passionate about is the Industrial Revolution of the 18th and 19th centuries.

What period it is

It originated in Britain and spread in Europe and around the world and changed societies to industrialized economy.

How you know about it

I initially got to hear about it in a documentary on how machines and factories totally changed the life of man.

What interests you about it

I am most surprised by the fact that inventions such as the steam engine, railways and machines factories increased production and world trade.

And why would you like to know more about it

I would like to know how common people lived in this huge transformation, and how it affected the modern capitalism.

Conclusion

The modern world was built on the Industrial Revolution, and its further studying would provide me with valuable information about the economic systems of the modern world.
