Part time work
Will I be allowed to work while studying in Germany?
Comments(1)
A foreign student (not a citizen of an EU or EEA member state?with the exception of Bulgaria and Romania facing constraints up to 2014) studying full-time in Germany is legally permitted to work up to 120 complete (or 240-half) days in a year without needing to receive approval from German employment officials. For foreign students, the legally permitted number of working days (half days) also includes voluntary work placements, whether the placement is paid or unpaid. Foreign students are also faced with an additional restriction: while they work the legally permitted number of days (or half days), they can not be self-employed or freelance.
