Is it more difficult to get into a top Indian university or a good US university for a Master of Science (MS) program?

Top Indian universities (IITs/IISc) are extremely competitive with acceptance rates under 2%. Good US universities vary widely (10-50% acceptance). Both require excellent credentials, but Indian institutions are generally more selective.
